Project Overview

Gonzalez Shah Smith is currently providing MEP/FP engineering services for the Applied Technology Expansion project at Austin Community College Round Rock.

The project includes work across three buildings supporting a range of technical and workforce training programs. Building 5500 is a 22,400-square-foot facility that will house programs in Advanced Manufacturing, Heating and Air Conditioning Repair Technology, and a planned electrician certificate program.

Building 4000 is a 36,000-square-foot facility dedicated to the Automotive Technology program. The building will include specialized areas supporting the program's partnership with Toyota, known as T-TEN, as well as potential future accommodations for Battery Electric Vehicle training.

Building 5000 is a 19,795-square-foot facility that will undergo a partial renovation. Once Automotive Technology relocates to Building 4000, the former space will be repurposed to create expanded labs for the Welding Technology program. Minor upgrades to the Building Construction Technology area will also improve storage efficiency and provide a new technology office.

Together, the improvements will expand hands-on learning environments and support the continued growth of technical education programs at the Round Rock campus.
