September 2024Gonzalez Shah Smith provided MEP/FP engineering and commissioning services for the Student Services Building and Welcome Center at East Texas A&M University.
The two-story facility serves as the university's new "front door," welcoming prospective students, families, and visitors at the main entrance along Highway 24. Designed as both a landmark entry point and the launching point for campus tours, the building provides visitors with their first introduction to the university and its resources, traditions, and campus culture.
The facility includes gallery and exhibition space featuring media and art installations that highlight the university's history and identity. Its modern architecture complements the adjacent Music Building while maintaining continuity with more recent development across the campus.
The Student Services Building and Welcome Center creates a central destination for recruitment, enrollment, and visitor engagement while providing a welcoming first impression for future students and their families.
