November 2023Gonzalez Shah Smith provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for the Texas A&M University-Central Texas Campus Master Plan in Killeen.
The master plan provides a long-term roadmap for the continued development of the university's 672-acre campus over the next 20 to 30 years. Building on previous planning efforts, the plan addresses future academic, research, student life, housing, recreation, and infrastructure needs while supporting the university's continued growth and evolving mission.
The plan envisions a future campus approaching two million square feet, with development concentrated within approximately 184 acres of the larger site. Future growth is organized around a walkable campus core, a network of open spaces, and a central collaboration quad designed to bring academic, research, industry, and student life functions together.
As part of the planning team, GSS supported the evaluation and planning of mechanical and electrical infrastructure needed to accommodate future campus development and help guide the university's long-term expansion.
