Project Overview

Gonzalez Shah Smith provided MEP/FP engineering services for the Public Health and Education Building at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

The new academic facility supports the university's Public Health program and College of Education and Human Development, expanding opportunities for teaching, research, and student engagement. The building includes Public Health research laboratories and administrative space, offices and support areas for Curriculum and Instruction and Education and Leadership Preparation, a Dean's Suite, a 100-person classroom, an Educator Café, and a STEM instructional laboratory.

Public Health research spaces include open-concept shared laboratories for general benchtop work, along with enclosed support laboratories designed to accommodate specialized research needs. Flexible instructional and collaborative spaces throughout the building support a range of teaching and learning environments.

The Public Health and Education Building represents an important part of Texas A&M-San Antonio's continued growth, expanding health sciences education and research opportunities while supporting the university's commitment to serving students and communities throughout South Texas.
