December 2025Gonzalez Shah Smith is providing MEP/FP engineering services for the new STEM Building at the University of North Texas at Dallas.
The four-story facility is designed to support teaching, research, and collaboration across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and health-related programs. The building will include flexible classrooms, biology and chemistry teaching laboratories, research laboratories, adaptable wet labs, faculty and staff offices, and a variety of study and collaboration spaces.
Specialized areas will include instrumentation rooms, cold and dark-enabled rooms, a student STEM center, and dedicated space for the Joint Admission Medical Program. The ground level will also feature a café, pre-function space, and classroom and meeting areas designed to support both academic and campus activities.
Designed as a flexible, energy-efficient learning and research environment, the STEM Building will expand opportunities for hands-on STEM education while supporting UNT Dallas' continued growth and its efforts to prepare students for careers in STEM and healthcare fields.
